Welcome to another episode of 920 Aligned, where we share quick tips to enhance your health and well-being. I’m Dr Hunter Schultz, and today, we’re going to talk about a fundamental aspect of physical health—understanding your body’s alignment.
Body alignment refers to how your head, shoulders, spine, hips, knees, and ankles relate and line up with each other. Proper alignment means that your body is well-balanced, with minimal strain on your muscles, ligaments, and joints. It’s a key factor in maintaining good posture, preventing injury, and ensuring that your body moves efficiently.
When your body is in proper alignment, everything works together as it should. Your muscles are used correctly, your joints are in their optimal positions, and you’re less likely to experience pain or discomfort. However, poor alignment can lead to a range of issues, from chronic pain to mobility problems, and even increased risk of injury.
One of the most common alignment issues is poor posture. Many of us spend a lot of time sitting, whether it’s at a desk, in the car, or on the couch. Over time, this can lead to slouching, rounded shoulders, and a forward head position. These postural habits can cause muscle imbalances and put undue stress on certain areas of the body, especially the neck, shoulders, and lower back.
Another common issue is imbalances in muscle strength and flexibility. For example, if your hip flexors are tight and your glutes are weak, it can pull your pelvis out of alignment, leading to lower back pain. Similarly, if your chest muscles are stronger than your upper back muscles, it can cause your shoulders to round forward.
So, how can you improve your body’s alignment? The first step is to become aware of your posture and movement patterns. Pay attention to how you sit, stand, and move throughout the day. Are your shoulders rounded? Is your head jutting forward? Are you favoring one side of your body more than the other?
Next, focus on strengthening and stretching the right muscles to bring your body back into balance. Exercises that target your core, glutes, and back muscles are particularly important for improving alignment. Stretching tight muscles, like your hip flexors and chest, can also help.
Finally, consider seeking professional guidance. A chiropractor or physical therapist can assess your body’s alignment and provide personalized recommendations to address any issues. They can also help you with exercises and stretches to improve your posture and alignment over time.
Understanding and maintaining proper body alignment is key to preventing pain and injury and ensuring that your body functions at its best. So grateful for everyone at 920, I’ve never felt better!
Super happy with my treatments. Everything is working well again. Would certainly recommend to anyone.
I am so grateful for Dr. Shultz, Faith and even the new girl whose name escapes me.😬. I came in with a severe herniated disc with nerve impingement which made it hard for me to stand for more than a couple minutes and had me walking either a walker. For 8 months I was passed around from dr to dr either no relief from anything. Within 4 session I was able to ditch the walker and I am improving with every session. I have my life back and look forward to a future with no pain! Thanks you guys, you’re amazing!
Very friendly and professional. My back feels so much better since I started coming here. Highly highly recommend!

I couldn’t be happier with the care I’ve received from Dr. Hunter. I started with some minor back pain, and now my back feels great. I’m also more flexible than I’ve been in years. I highly recommend Dr. Hunter!
Faith and Mikayla always greet you will always smile and are happy to see you for your visit! Dr. Schultz takes the time to listen and explains his process, I went from having back pain and migraines everyday to having minimal migraines and back pain is 99% pain free. Please give 920 Chiropractic a chance and you will feel the results!
I would highly recommend Dr. Schultz. I have been dealing with neuropathy for over the past year. I've been under the care of the neurologist for over a year. All he did was try to mask the pain in my feet and hands with pills. None of them worked. They only made me gain weight. I saw Dr. Schultzs ad on Facebook and booked an appointment. My first time I saw him opened my eyes as to why I was having my pain. After my first appointment, I felt the results. No more waking up in the middle of the night in constant pain. Dr. Schultz and his staff are great. I highly recommend 920 Chiropractic and Dr. Schultz!
I’ve been to 4 different chiropractors in the past 8 years and this place is by far the best! Highly recommend!
Front desk staff is amazing. Very personable, and friendly. Dr. Hunter is great to work with, and has helped with my neck pain in only a few visits.
From the consultation on I’ve had excellent service and treatment. Dr. Schultz did a great job diagnosing and explaining the problems I was having and provided a clear treatment plan. After just a few adjustments my back and neck were feeling much better.
